I guess I could start with a name. (Carmen.) A child born like most children are, with the added braces (formerly), glasses, and hole(s) in ears/nose.
Mostly, what people (read: you) should know about me is that I am, simply, perpetually late, with a permanent sense of entitlement and a love of fashion, feminism, and the gender discussion. I'm a college student who knows everything and yet, not enough, and is entirely too ambitious for her own good. I speak in vague terms because I enjoy mystery and am never up for leaving my Olympus E-420 at home. I have an affinity for cardigans and skinny jeans and a hairstyle that turned me into the epitome of mirror-loving leos. I've compared myself to the greats, from Hillary Clinton to the lead singer of The Pretenders (I forget her name so often, but think about buying a denim jacket in her honor so often).
I started this blog as a place to do something I see as completely revolutionary and, for me, brave- I'm going to share a piece of me with everyone else. I'm an intensely hidden person, who appears extroverted but keeps most of her roots underground.
It's cliché to start with a biography, mostly because I'd hope I don't require a backstory. So I guess I've finally given in to the world of awkward internet introductions, but hey, it's better than the patriarchy of speed-dating.

Even lesbian speed-dating is weirdly oppressive. The sheer lack of female presence is so indicative of lesbian invisibility. And not in the sexy superpower way.
